What are your hours of operation?

We operate under standard business hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST Monday through Friday but can be available after hours as needed.

What is the typical turnaround time and scheduling lead time for your services?

Please contact us directly for an approximate lead time as this can fluctuate throughout the year.

How is your pricing structured?

Each project and client need differs from the next. We will attempt to get as much information about your project as possible before we issue a quote for our 3D laser scanning services. Some of the questions we will have are as follows:

  • Where is the project located? Can we access the areas within normal business hours?
  • What is the total square footage of project areas?
  • What type of deliverable are you looking for?
  • What are your specific needs or obstacles for this project?
  • Have you used laser scanning on past projects?
  • What 3D software do you use and what file type do you require?
Where are your service areas?

We are based in Auburn, Alabama, and focus primarily within the southeastern region of the United States, but nationwide coverage can be offered upon request.

What types of industries do you service?

We operate in large industrial and manufacturing plants/facilities, commercial buildings, historical preservation sites, entertainment venues and some smaller residential applications as needed.

About Our Laser Scanning Process

How does 3D Laser Scanning work?

3D Laser scanning is the process of using LIDAR technology to gather millions of data points per second that are grouped together to form a point cloud. LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is the process of measuring the time it takes for the laser to reflect off an object and return to the sensor.

What types of applications do you utilize aerial drones for?

We fly drones for large and small site mapping, photography for roof inspections and other structures, topographic surveys, aerial images, etc.

What types and brands of equipment do you utilize on projects?

We primarily utilize terrestrial-based (tripod-mounted) laser scanners from Leica Geosystems and Mavic 3 Enterprise aerial drones.

What file types can a point cloud be delivered in?

The standard file types that point clouds are typically delivered in are:

  • .rcs/.rcp file format (typically used with Autodesk Recap, Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Inventor)
  • .lgs (LGS) file format (a file type used within Leica Geosystems software and plugins)
  • .e57 (are neutral point cloud files that can be used across various software types)
  • .las (standard binary point cloud file type)
